Vol. I  ·  Engineer & Rescuer

Builds reliable systems.
Brings people home.

Two careers, one operating manual: stay calm, work the problem, leave it better than you found it. By day, DevOps and Cloud Architecture. By night and weekend, Technical Rescue, Public Safety Diving, and Festival Medicine.

I  ·  The Tech Practice

DevOps, cloud architecture, site reliability.

I design and operate the systems that quietly do their jobs and provide services to users. Cloud-native(AWS/GCP/Azure) infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and assocated site-reliability/monitoring.

II  ·  The Rescue Practice

Technical rescue, dive recovery, festival medicine.

The other half of the work. Rope and swiftwater rescue, public safety diving, Sonar scanning, pre-hospital EMS, and mass-gathering medicine at various festivals. The systems are different but the discipline is the same: train hard, check your systems/processes, and know what you're doing before the day goes sideways.

“Both practices reward the same things: calm under pressure, respect for the fundamentals, and the humility to call for help when you need it.”
